Due to continued growth, we are actively searching for a Rebar Sales/Estimator to join our branch in Madison, WI! This individual will report to the Sales Manager and is responsible for developing detailed take-offs of reinforcing steel material to prepare for quoting to customers at the best possible price consistent with corporate profitability objectives. This individual will also be responsible for investigating all sales prospects, determining which jobs should be bid, securing bid documents, and preparing estimates. The right person for the job can expect to spend at least 50% of the time in estimating with the remainder in direct contact with customers or potential customers selling fabricated reinforcing steel and/or related construction products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for accurate and timely estimates.
  • Responsible for completeness and proper submittal of estimates. Including easy to-follow breakdowns correlated to the probable detailing sequence.
  • Maintain cordial working conditions with present and potential customers.
  • Responsible for follow up on bids/quotes.
  • Responsible for closing sales.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
  • Regular attendance is required for this position.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two-year college or technical school or equivalent work experience.
  • Five years estimating experience in the onstruction industry.
  • Previous experience estimating rebar quantities.
  • Ability to close sales.
  • Ability to read blue prints.
