The Senior Test Engineer will define, plan, and perform combustion, performance development, mechanical testing, engine calibration, and other relevant engineering project work within the project team as required. This position has overseeing responsibilities and may evolve into a direct supervisory role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plans and manages engineering and technicians personnel according to project requirements
  • Works on specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, preparation of specifications, technical plans, engine testing, data analysis, and validation
  • Supports/ensures data quality and writes technical reports
  • Reviews project for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements, including input from other stakeholders
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering test issues
  • Define, execute, and supports mechanical engine test projects, engine performance and emissions research, and development activities
  • Support,  organize, and lead customer technical meetings
  • Executes other duties as required to ensure project success and completion
  • Potential grow role and skills to develop and lead more automotive system tests
  • Lead a testing team
  • Interface and work effectively with customers and other program staff and team members
  • Accountable for individual and team delivery
  • Coordinate program and resources
  • Actively pursue and negotiate for overall success and improvement of personnel and department
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the program team

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field; Master's or Ph.D. is also desirable
  • Minimum of 7 years of previous engineering experience
  • Calibration and/or development experience with diesel and/or natural gas engines
  • Working proficiency with most or all of the following:
  • AVL Concerto or equivalent toolset
  • Vector CANape, CANalyzer
  • MATLAB/Simulink
  • Microsoft Office


  • System experience in transmissions, hydraulics or control systems
